Go Ahead for Contemporary Apartment Building at Marina off the River Medway

This resolution to grant permission followed earlier pre-application discussions and a consultation event with the local community, which helped to shape the scheme alongside the technical specialists, including architecture, highways, flood risk, ecology, landscaping and archaeology. Alongside the supporting technical consultants, Hume Planning held productive discussions with the case officer and consultees in order to find solutions in relation to highway and public rights of way concerns which were raised by local residents.

The application was submitted in response to an earlier outline approval for 36 dwellings at the site in 2018 but provided an increase to the total proposed housing number by 4 units and providing detailed drawings for a contemporary four storey building in this prominent riverfront location.

The result represents an important contribution towards the districts housing supply as well as delivering a significant visual enhancement to the site through a high quality, innovative and focal building at the marina.
