Hume Planning specialises in the assessment of planning risk for clients and for most projects manages and coordinates a consultancy team to deliver housing where the identified need requires.

This normally involves understanding the brief from clients, assessing the opportunities and constraints of development sites and formulating proposals, working alongside architects and coordinating the necessary consultants to understand highway, drainage, ecology, tree etc. issues as part of a well justified and well designed submission. For larger and more sensitive projects this can involve public consultation engagement to inform the design process. The Hume Planning team are experienced in ‘driving’ projects forward at all times and presenting proposals to LPA officers and members of the Planning Committee whilst striving to achieve a negotiated solution, although the practice is also, where necessary, experienced in prosecuting appeals.

Some examples of our successful approaches to unlocking difficult sites, most of which involved a negative planning history preceding our involvement is evidenced from our news page. The practice work on a wide range of development projects, from ‘one off’ houses to the strategic promotion of sites of over 4000 dwellings.
