We’re hiring! HPC seeks Senior Planner

The Opportunity:
As a Senior Planner, you will be meaningfully engaged in all work streams and an active member of our team. You will be given real challenges and responsibilities to help you develop your skills. We envisage a start date asap, given our existing and pipeline work commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a part of the Hume Planning team, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects including residential developments, commercial and leisure proposals of varying scales, some of which you will work alongside other members of the team.

You can expect to build relationships with our clients as well as liaising with other specialist consultants and LPA officers and key consultees during the appraisal, preparation and negotiation of planning applications so the successful candidate is likely to have some experience of development management.  However, the Practice also has a strong reputation for strategic land promotion and ideally candidates will have some experience of the planning policy process and the successful candidate will be given every opportunity to develop skills and experience in this area, including project management skills when coordinating larger projects.

Who are we looking for?
We value our team members, and are actively seeking a motivated Senior Planner who can join the Practice as we continue to expand. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:

  • a strong drive for results;
  • a team player with a positive and energetic outlook;
  • the desire and ability to adapt to changing situations;
  • adept at building relationships with external contacts, including clients and planning officers;
  • an ability to plan ahead, and to understand the commercial aspects of the planning process;
  • a valid UK driver’s licence;
  • a relevant degree;

You should have a passion for planning and the desire for finding creative solutions in order to “drive positive proposals forward.”  The ideal candidate will have more than 3 years’ experience after graduating, preferably working in the private sector.
