Planning U-Turn: Appeal Victory in Mill Hill, Deal

Following Hume Planning Consultancy’s lodging of an appeal, an Inspector has overturned Dover District Council’s refusal and allowed permission for the erection of a detached bungalow and sub-division of the existing property to two dwellings along Mill Hill in Deal.

The central areas of disagreement between the Appellant and the LPA were focused upon the impact on residential amenity, the character and appearance of the area and highways safety as a result of the erection of the proposed bungalow to the rear of the host property. The Inspector ultimately agreed with the Statement of Case put forward, finding that the backland siting of the bungalow would assimilate with the character and appearance of the surrounding area and would safeguard living conditions. The Inspector also viewed the sub-division proposal as acceptable in regard to its previous approval under a separate application.

The Hume Planning Team displayed resilience and problem-solving over the course of both the application and appeal processes and we are pleased to receive this positive outcome for our client.
