OUT WITH THE OLD PERMISSIONS AND IN WITH THE NEW
Medway Council have now submitted their new Local Plan for examination, and with it, Hume Planning Consultancy has secured an extensive strategic allocation on behalf of our client.
This strategic allocation has been secured on behalf of a single landowning family and follows a long period of local plan promotion. The allocation site will deliver over 3,000 additional homes to what has already been approved at East Hill and Gibraltar Farm. This strategic corridor will deliver a significant proportion of Medway’s overall housing needs alongside much needed supporting infrastructure.
The allocation area to the south of Capstone Park, with further land to the north known as Darland Banks, being offered as an extension to the country park, promotes wider public access and provides opportunities for significant biodiversity benefits. To the south of the allocation, the masterplan proposals will ensure there are connecting routeways to the planned new community of Lidsing (which lies within Maidstone’s administrative area).
Hume Planning look forward to progressing with the site and engaging with local residents, planning policy makers and key stakeholders to deliver a comprehensively planned extension within this corridor.
