Lidsing Garden Community

Your views are sought regarding development proposals for a vibrant mixed-use garden community. Lidsing Garden Community is positioned close to Junction 4 of the M2 motorway.

The site has been identified in Maidstone Borough Council’s Regulation 18 ‘Preferred Options’ Local Plan Review consultation as site ‘SP4 (b) Development north of M2/Lidsing’ for 2,000 new homes including 40% affordable housing, employment opportunities, infrastructure improvements, and site-wide environmental enhancements.

Details of the emerging proposals and online comments form are now available to view online by clicking on the ‘Plans & Documents’ and ‘Feedback’ tab below. You will note that the Development Brochure and its October 2020 Update refer to a higher quantum of development (up to 2,400 homes). In line with the Council’s published Local Plan Review, the proposed development would now instead provide up to 2,000 homes.

Comments are no longer being received on this consultation. Last comments on the proposals should have been received by 8 January 2021 (corresponding with the extended deadline of the Maidstone Borough Local Plan Regulation 18b public consultation, itself extended to 8 January 2021).

Please note that this consultation is undertaken separately from Maidstone Borough Council’s ongoing public consultation on its emerging Local Plan. Comments provided here will provide feedback only to the landowner and project team to inform future design iterations of the proposed Lidsing Garden Community. Should you wish to comment on the Council’s own public consultation, please contact the Council directly.
