Chapel House Visitor Accommodation – ‘Eco Escape on Horizon’ Chapel House Estate Lodges Get the Go Ahead for Wellness Retreat in Minster Village

Following a positive recommendation from the Thanet Council Planning Department, local Members resolved to grant planning permission last month for a unique and eco-friendly addition to visitor accommodation within Thanet. In addition to 50 sustainable holiday lodges, the proposals also include on-site gym and spa facilities, café/restaurant, shop and a natural swimming lake with self-sufficient, chemical-free planting and reed beds.

Thanet District Council were in full support of this application and the Hume Planning Team worked closely with the Council in order to satisfy all of the technical requirements. The site itself occupies a prime location for the development because it adjoins the existing wedding and events venue on the wider Estate and provides a rural setting whilst still offering good transport links and connections to Ramsgate and Minster. The proposal will bring a significant number of benefits to the local area, including the creation of additional jobs, increasing tourism spend and boosting on-site biodiversity through landscape enhancements and new tree planting.

Chapel House Estates are hoping to complete the development for opening in 2027.
