COUNCILLORs’ APPROVE 14 APARTMENTS AT LONDON ROAD, MAIDSTONE

Maidstone Borough Council’s Planning Committee has voted to approve planning permission for a residential development of 14 apartments on London Road.

Following the previous dismissal of an appeal on the site, Hume Planning Consultancy worked to prepare a revised application which was submitted in the summer of 2024. After extensive negotiations with the LPA, the application was presented at the August meeting of Maidstone’s Planning Committee where members requested additional amendments to the scheme.

These requests were responded to and the application returned to committee on 18th December 2025. Planning officers remained supportive of the scheme, highlighting that the development responds positively to local design policies and provides a high-quality residential scheme in a sustainable location close to Maidstone town centre.

Members were satisfied that a pro-active approach was taken to respond to the previous points raised and commended the collaboration between the LPA and the Applicant, recognising the benefits that this development will bring with it.

Hume Planning Consultancy is pleased to have secured approval for the Applicant for this high-quality scheme. The decision marks a significant step forward in delivering new housing in Maidstone and unlocking the site for residential use.
