PLANS BEAR FRUIT AFTER FIVE-YEAR JOURNEY: INSPECTOR ALLOWS RURAL EXPANSION AND DIVERSIFICATION AT BROGDALE FARM

After five years of dedicated effort, we are delighted to announce that outline planning consent has been granted at appeal for the expansion of the rural hub at Brogdale Farm near Faversham in Kent. This decision paves the way for an exciting development on behalf of the East Malling Trust that will strengthen the local economy and enhance community facilities within the countryside.

The approved plans include new rural workshops, a nursery school, and holiday lets, forming part of a wider farm diversification strategy. This expansion builds on Brogdale Farm’s existing hub, creating opportunities for local businesses, supporting families, and promoting sustainable rural tourism.

Following an Informal Hearing earlier this Autumn, the Inspector issued their decision which concluded that the proposal would help to meet an unmet need for employment land in the Borough which attracted. significant weight in favour of the scheme. This development will bring long-term benefits to the area, supporting jobs, education, and rural enterprise. Updates will be shared as the project moves forward.
