Nutrient Neutrality Solution Accepted for Four New Dwellings at Village Edge Location

At May Planning Committee this month, Folkestone & Hythe Councillors have voted to support their Planning Officer’s recommending the approval of the planning application for four detached dwellings adjoining the village of Stanford.

This successful result has followed a previous appeal lodged by Hume Planning Consultancy, where the Planning Inspector in their decision supported the development of this site in principle as a logical infill, and importantly concluded that it would not harm the character and appearance of Stanford village. The resubmission application sought to respond to the sole outstanding matter relating to nutrient neutrality, of which a local solution has been found to be technically acceptable and was accepted by Members.

The development proposal is for the construction of four detached homes, set around a central courtyard, and accessed off Stone Street. They feature varying but cohesive designs, involving a bungalow, two chalet bungalows and a two storey house. The approval will therefore add to the choice of homes in the village in the short-term and the scheme will also be delivered by a small local housebuilder, thus supporting local industry.
